Legal pages: included in every Melta product
For anyone who runs a digital product in Switzerland, Germany or Austria and does not want to piece the legal pages together by hand. Melta generates the imprint, privacy policy and terms from your operator details, keeps them current in the product and publishes nothing until you approve it. The texts are general information, not legal advice.
What you get
A product that is publicly reachable needs three pages nobody enjoys writing. At Melta they are generated from details you enter once anyway: who runs the product, where, and how to reach you.
Imprint
The provider identification (Impressum) for your product, generated from your operator details: name, address, contact. When the details change, the imprint changes with them, without rebuilding the product.
Privacy policy
The privacy policy comes from the same details and is aimed at Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Because Melta measures visits without cookies, no cookie banner is needed for the analytics.
Terms
The terms and conditions for your product live on their own page. You can adjust them without a rebuild when your offer or your rules change.
Operator details everywhere
The same details appear in the footer, on the contact page and in the emails your product sends. One source, always current, no stale address lingering anywhere.
All three pages are general information, not legal advice. If your product has special requirements, a review by a professional is the safe route.
How it works
- Enter the operator details once - In Melta you record at organisation level who runs the product: name, address, contact details. These details apply to every product of the organisation.
- Override per product if needed - A product with its own contact address or a different operator overrides only the affected fields. Empty fields inherit from the organisation.
- Approve publication - Nothing appears in the product until you approve publishing the operator details. You decide when your details go public.
- Go live - Before going live, Melta checks that the operator details are complete. Only then does the product go online. The preview is exempt from this check; you can test there before the details are finished.
- Change later - New address, new phone number, new contact address: you change the details in Melta and they appear without a rebuild on the legal pages, in the footer, on the contact page and in the emails.
Who this matters for
As soon as a product is publicly reachable, visitors want to know who is behind it and how to reach you. A few cases where the legal pages should be right from day one:
- Anyone who sells - A SaaS product with subscriptions or a product with one-time purchases takes money. Terms, an imprint and a privacy policy belong there from day one. At Melta they are created together with the product.
- Clubs - A member area handles names, addresses and fees. Clubs rarely have someone whose job it is to maintain legal pages; here the pages simply follow the operator details the board enters once.
- Practices and small businesses - A small business or a freelancer with a booking or customer tool enters its details once. A move or a new phone number is then a change in Melta, not a job for an agency.
What it costs
A concept uses only a few credits; afterwards your product runs on a plan per organisation with credits every month. All numbers and how the price is made up are on the pricing page.
Common questions
Are the legal pages legal advice?
No. The imprint, privacy policy and terms are generated from your operator details and aimed at Switzerland, Germany and Austria. They are general information, not legal advice. If your product has special requirements, have the texts checked by a professional.
Do I need a cookie banner?
Not for Melta's analytics. Visits are measured without cookies, so no banner is needed for that. You still see visitors, pages, sources and countries.
What happens when my address or contact details change?
You change the operator details in Melta. The new details appear in the product without a rebuild: on the legal pages, in the footer, on the contact page and in the emails.
Can I go live before the operator details are complete?
No. Going live requires complete operator details; Melta checks this before the product goes online. The preview is exempt from this check, so you can test there before the details are finished.
I run several products. Do I have to enter the details more than once?
No. The operator details belong to the organisation and apply to all its products. If one product differs, for example with its own contact address, you override only the affected fields; empty fields inherit from the organisation.
