Features

Finance: included in every Melta product

For anyone who wants to sell something through their product: access, a subscription, a document, a feature. One-time purchases and monthly or yearly subscriptions are built into every Melta product, the checkout lives inside the product itself, and payouts go to your bank account. You do not need your own contract with a payment provider.

What you get

At Melta, payments are not an add-on but part of every product. As soon as your concept includes something to sell, the purchase flow is built together with everything else: offer, checkout, unlock, receipt.

One-time purchases and subscriptions

A document, a report or access to a feature as a one-time purchase. Ongoing use as a monthly or yearly subscription. Both can sit side by side in the same product.

Checkout inside the product

Your customers pay right where they are, without being sent off to a separate shop. At checkout they see your product as the merchant, not Melta.

Payouts to your account

You enter your business details and your bank account directly inside Melta. The onboarding is embedded; there is no separate contract with a payment provider.

Receipts and numbers

After every purchase the customer receives a receipt by email. The checkout-to-purchase funnel and revenue per source appear in your product's analytics automatically.

How it works

  1. Declare the offers in the concept - You describe what is free in your product and what people pay for: once, monthly or yearly, and at what price. The concept records these offers. Prices are never hard-coded; they are settings you change in the chat later.
  2. Have it built - Once you confirm the concept, Melta builds the product with checkout, customer accounts and receipts, typically within 24 hours.
  3. Test in the preview - In the private preview you walk through the purchase with test data: pick an offer, pay, check the unlock, read the receipt. No real money moves.
  4. Connect the payout account - Before the product takes money, you enter your business details and your bank account inside Melta. If your product sells something, Melta checks before go-live that this account is connected.
  5. Go live - The checkout only takes real money once the product is live and the payout account is connected. From then on, a new price or an extra offer is a chat message away; change runs are included in every plan.

Who this matters for

Selling digital products. A template, a report as a PDF, access to a feature: if what you sell happens inside your own application, the purchase belongs right there. The example product ÜbergabeFix combines a one-time purchase for a single apartment handover with a yearly plan for regular handovers. More under Sell online with your own app.

A SaaS product with subscriptions. A tool for ongoing use usually sells monthly or yearly access, often in several tiers. The concept describes the tiers, the checkout offers them, and access ends when the subscription does. See Build a SaaS product.

Studios, clubs and sponsors. A yoga studio sells class subscriptions, a club sells memberships, a directory sells yearly packages to sponsors. The example products SOMA Yoga Zürich and Steigwärts show two of these patterns. For memberships, have a look at the member area.

Not offered: automatic split payouts to third-party sellers. A marketplace on Melta earns through listing fees, vendor subscriptions, featured placements or booking fees that you collect as the operator.

What it costs

A concept uses only a few credits; afterwards your product runs on a plan per organisation with credits every month. All numbers and how the price is made up are on the pricing page.

Common questions

Do I need my own contract with a payment provider?

No. You enter your business details and your bank account directly inside Melta; the onboarding is embedded. Your customers see your product as the merchant when they pay, and the payouts go to your bank account.

When does the checkout take real money?

Only once the product is live and your payout account is connected. In the preview every purchase is a test purchase with test data, and no real money moves. Before go-live Melta checks that the payout account is connected if your product sells something.

How do I change a price or an offer?

In the chat with your product's editor. Prices are never hard-coded; they are settings you change like a line of text. The change appears in the preview first, and you put it live when it is right. Change runs are included in every plan.

Can Melta split a payment between several sellers?

No. Automatic split payouts to third-party sellers are not offered. A marketplace on Melta earns through listing fees, vendor subscriptions, featured placements or booking fees that you collect as the operator.

What is deducted from a payment?

Your plan's share and the card processing are deducted directly from each payment and never invoiced separately. If you sell nothing, no share is due.

Describe what your product sells. Melta builds the checkout.

A concept uses only a few credits. One-time purchases, subscriptions, receipts and payouts are part of the build once you approve the concept.
