Sell online with your own app - one-time purchases, subscriptions and digital products

For founders, businesses and professionals who want to sell something that belongs inside their own product: access, a subscription, a document, a feature. You describe what you offer and what it costs. Melta builds the product with checkout, puts it online and runs the payments for you.

What your product brings for selling

To sell online with your own app means the purchase is part of the application, not a shop next to it. Someone uses your product, reaches the point where it costs something and pays right there. These building blocks come with it:

Checkout

Your customer picks an offer, pays by card and is done. The checkout shows your product as the merchant, not Melta. You do not need your own contract with a payment provider.

One-time purchase

A document, an access, a report: pay once, use right away. You set the price.

Subscriptions

Monthly or annual. Renewal runs by itself, and access ends when the subscription ends.

Receipts by email

After every purchase a confirmation with the receipt goes to the customer, sent from your product and under its name.

Customer accounts

Whoever buys has an account: purchases, subscription status and bought content in one place. Forgotten password and address confirmation included.

Refunds

Full or partial, without calling a payment provider. The money goes back the same way it came in.

Sell online with your own app instead of a shop builder

A shop builder is made for goods: product list, cart, shipping, stock, returns. But if what you sell happens inside your application, it gets in the way: the purchase sits next to the product instead of in it, and after payment you unlock access by hand.

At Melta the sale is part of your product. A few patterns:

For physical goods with stock and shipping, a shop builder remains the easier route. Melta is for products where the sale belongs to the application.

How you get a product that sells

  1. Describe - You say in your own words what your product does, which part is free and what people pay for: once, monthly or annually, and at what price.
  2. Read the concept - Melta writes a concept in plain language, with the payment model in it. You change it until it fits.
  3. Confirm - When you confirm, the build starts, paid from the credits of your plan. Melta builds the product with checkout, customer accounts and receipts. A full build can take up to about a day.
  4. Test the purchase - In the preview you walk through the purchase with test data, and no real money moves: pick an offer, pay, check the unlock, read the receipt.
  5. Set up payouts - Before going live you enter your operator details and your bank account. The legal pages are generated from the details; the payouts go to the account.
  6. Go live - You decide when the product goes online. From then on a new price or an extra offer is a chat message; change runs are included in every plan.

Two example products that sell

ÜbergabeFix is an example product built with Melta: the guided apartment handover for small landlords, with a PDF report at the end. It sells in two ways: if you only need one handover, you buy once. If you hand over regularly, you take the annual plan. Both run through the checkout that Melta operates; the operator only set the prices.

KettenDoc helps non-experts repair their own bike: guided diagnosis by symptom and sound, instructions without special tools. This example product shows the second kind of product: what has value here is knowledge in a guided walkthrough. There would be nothing to ship; what can be sold is access, as a one-time purchase or as a subscription. Payments are connected as soon as a product needs them.

What runs alongside the sale

Selling is more than a pay button. Melta operates the rest for your product: hosting on a melta.ai subdomain or on your own domain, the emails for confirmations and receipts, the legal pages (imprint, privacy policy and terms) generated from your operator data for Switzerland, Germany and Austria (general information, not legal advice), a support inbox that sorts questions about purchases and subscriptions automatically, plus analytics without cookies and error monitoring.

You own what runs.

Fees, explained honestly

A concept uses only a few credits. As soon as you sell, two amounts come off each payment: your plan's share and the card processing. Both are deducted at the moment of payment and never invoiced separately.

What it costs and how the price is made up is on the pricing page.

If you sell nothing, no share is due. AI work is covered: every plan includes a monthly AI quota, no own API key needed. Melta earns when you earn. All details are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own contract with a payment provider?

No. Payment processing is part of the platform. Your customers see your product as the merchant when they pay, and the payouts go to your bank account. Before going live you enter your operator details and your bank account for this.

Can I offer a one-time purchase and a subscription in the same product?

Yes. ÜbergabeFix does exactly that: a single handover as a one-time purchase, regular handovers on the annual plan. You describe both offers and their prices, the concept records them, the build puts them in place.

What does a single sale cost me?

Neither the share nor the card processing is ever invoiced separately. If you sell nothing, no share is due.

Can I test the purchase flow before it goes live?

Yes. In the preview you walk through the purchase with test data: pick an offer, pay, check the unlock and the receipt. No real money moves.

How do I change a price or an offer later?

You write the change as a chat message, for example a new price, an extra tier or an annual plan next to the monthly one. It appears in the preview first; you put it live when it is right. Change runs are included in every plan.

Sell online with your own app - Melta does the rest.

A concept uses only a few credits. Checkout, receipts and payouts are connected once you approve your product.
