Build a community platform with Melta - members, posts, groups and paid membership

For creators, clubs, coaches and anyone who wants to gather their people in a place of their own instead of someone else's network. You describe who meets here and what it is about. Melta builds the platform with accounts, profiles, posts and membership, puts it online and runs it.

What a product like this can do

A community platform is a place with its own address and rules that you set: who may join, what is shared, what membership costs. Unlike a group in someone else's network, it belongs to you, with its own domain, database and sender name. These are the typical building blocks; which ones your product needs is settled in the concept:

Members and profiles

Registration, forgotten password, email confirmation. Each member has a profile with picture and introduction; roles such as member, moderator and admin decide who may do what.

Posts and discussions

Write posts, reply, react. Ordered by time or topic, so older discussions can be found again.

Groups

Sub-groups by topic, region or level, open to all or by invitation only. Each group has its own feed.

Moderation

Report posts, hide them, warn or block members. The rules are visible on the platform, and moderators have their own rights.

Notifications

Replies, mentions and new posts in subscribed groups arrive by email, as often as the member chooses.

Membership

Free, free with paid tiers, or fully paid, monthly or yearly. Paying members see more, such as closed groups or content.

Events for members

Dates with sign-up, attendee list and an email reminder, online or in person. A seat can be free or paid.

How Melta builds it

  1. Describe - You say in your own words who the community is for, what it talks about, what is free and what membership costs. Melta asks up to four clarifying questions, none technical.
  2. Read the concept - From that comes a concept in plain language: pages, roles, groups, membership. You change it in the chat until it fits.
  3. Confirm - When you confirm, the build starts, paid from the credits of your plan. Melta builds the whole product: interface, logic, accounts, database, payments, email, legal pages. Typically it is ready within 24 hours, and you get an email.
  4. Test in the preview - The private preview comes seeded with demo data and named test logins. You sign in as a member, write a post, report it as a moderator, buy a membership with test data. No real money moves.
  5. Go live - In seconds, no rebuild. First Melta checks that your operator details for the imprint are complete and, if you sell memberships, that your payout account is connected. You choose which preview data to carry over and can roll back to the previous live version.
  6. Change by chat - "Add a group for beginners", "offer the membership yearly as well": you write it to your product's editor, watch it work, step in if needed, and the preview updates live. You deploy to preview or live from the chat. Change runs are included in every plan.

A related example product

Melta has not yet built a community platform as an example product. The closest is Steigwärts: a via ferrata guide in which users share their tours, with yearly sponsor packages as the payment model. Two things every community needs are visible there: people with an account and content they contribute themselves. The member area page shows a closed area with paid access.

What comes with it

A community needs more than posts and profiles. The rest runs alongside: payment processing for memberships and events, where your members see your product as the merchant and the payouts go to your bank account; email under your product's name for confirmations, notifications and receipts; a melta.ai subdomain or, from the Growth plan, your own domain, bought through Melta or connected; imprint, privacy policy and terms generated from your operator details for Switzerland, Germany and Austria (general information, not legal advice); cookieless analytics with visits, sources and the path from visit to signup to membership; a support inbox that sorts incoming mail automatically; plus error monitoring, spam protection on logins and forms, and hosting on a globally distributed network - all part of the plan, no maintenance contract.

You own what runs.

What it costs

A concept uses only a few credits; afterwards your product runs on a plan per organisation with credits every month. All numbers and how the price is made up are on the pricing page.

Common questions

Can the community start free and add paid tiers later?

Yes. You describe in the concept what is free. As long as your product sells nothing, you pay only the plan and no share is due. A paid tier is added later as a chat message, appears in the preview first, and you put it live when it is right.

Who moderates the community?

You and the moderators you give the role to. Members report posts, moderation hides, warns or blocks. Logins and forms are protected against spam. The community rules are written by you.

Can members upload videos?

Videos are embedded from your video host; Melta does not store video files. Say in the concept where videos appear, and the platform gets the matching embeds.

What happens to questions from members?

Replies to your product's emails and mail to your product's support address land in the support inbox, sorted by topic automatically. You answer from inside Melta. An AI auto-reply is available, off by default, and hands over to you.

Your community, in your own place - Melta does the rest.

A concept uses only a few credits. Accounts, posts, groups and membership are built and connected once you approve your product.
