Build a course platform with Melta - sell and deliver courses in one product
For trainers, coaches, schools and specialists who want to offer what they know as a course, without operating a builder tool or hiring an agency. You describe your courses, your pricing and your audience. Melta turns that into your own course platform, puts it online and runs it - payments, email and legal pages included.
What a product like this can do
A course platform sells and delivers at the same time: someone finds a course, pays, learns lesson by lesson and receives proof at the end. The concept settles which of these building blocks your product gets:
Course catalogue
All courses with description, price and preview. Learners see what is free and what they already own.
Lessons and chapters
Courses are organised into chapters and lessons: text, images, downloads and videos embedded from your video host.
Progress
Every learner sees where they stand and continues where they left off. Completed lessons are marked.
Quizzes
Questions at the end of a chapter check what was learned. You decide whether a quiz has to be passed before the next chapter opens.
Certificates as PDF
Whoever completes a course receives a certificate as a PDF by email, sent from your product and under its name.
One-time purchase or membership
A single course as a one-time purchase, the whole catalogue as a monthly or annual membership. Both can exist side by side.
Drip content
Lessons unlock step by step, for example one per week from the purchase date, so a course keeps its rhythm.
Comments
Questions and discussion right under the lesson. You answer inside the product, where the question came up.
Melta does not host videos. They stay with your video host and are embedded in the lessons.
How Melta builds it
- Describe - You say in your own words which courses you offer, who should buy them and whether you sell single courses, a membership or both. Melta asks up to four clarifying questions, none of them technical.
- Read the concept - From that comes a concept in plain language: pages, flows, roles such as learner and operator, the payment model. You change it by chat until it fits.
- Have it built - When you confirm, the build starts, paid from the credits of your plan. Melta builds the whole platform: interface, course logic, accounts, database, payments, email, legal pages. It is typically ready within 24 hours; you get an email when it is done.
- Test in the preview - The private preview comes seeded with demo courses and named test logins. You sign in as a learner, work through a chapter, take a quiz, buy a course with test data and check the certificate. No real money moves.
- Go live - Going live takes seconds, with no rebuild. Before that Melta checks that your operator details for the imprint are complete and that your payout account is connected. You choose which preview data comes along. Rolling back to the previous live version is possible.
- Change by chat - A new course type, one more quiz, a different price: you tell your product's editor, watch it work, steer it mid-run if needed, and the preview updates live. From there you deploy to preview or live. Change runs are included in every plan.
A related example product
Melta has not built a course platform as an example product yet. The closest is SOMA Yoga Zürich: an example product for a studio with classes, bookings and subscriptions. Accounts for participants, an offer with prices, subscriptions that renew by themselves and confirmations by email are the same building blocks a course platform needs.
What comes with it
Every course platform from Melta brings its own operations. Payment processing is built in: learners pay inside the product, see your product as the merchant, and the payouts go to your bank account, with no separate contract with a payment provider. Transactional emails such as purchase confirmations, password resets or the certificate as an attachment go out under your product's name. Your platform runs on a melta.ai subdomain or, from the Growth plan, on your own domain, bought through Melta or connected. Imprint, privacy policy and terms are generated from your operator details, aimed at Switzerland, Germany and Austria, as general information and not legal advice. Cookieless analytics show you visits, sources and the path from the course page to the purchase. Replies from your learners land in the support inbox, sorted by topic automatically, and browser and backend errors appear in one feed.
You own what runs.
What it costs
A concept uses only a few credits; afterwards your product runs on a plan per organisation with credits every month. All numbers and how the price is made up are on the pricing page.
Common questions
Does Melta host my course videos?
No. Videos stay with your video host and are embedded in the lessons. Everything else runs inside the product: catalogue, chapters, progress, quizzes, certificates, access and payment.
One-time purchase or membership - which fits my course platform?
Both work, even side by side: single courses as one-time purchases, the whole catalogue as a monthly or annual membership. You describe your offer in the concept, the build puts it in place, and you change prices later by chat.
Can I test the platform before it goes live?
Yes. The private preview comes seeded with demo data and named test logins. You walk through a course as a learner, take a quiz, buy with test data and check the certificate. No real money moves.
How do I add new courses or features later?
You manage courses and lessons inside the product itself when the concept includes an admin area. New features such as a quiz at the end of a chapter or comments under lessons you describe to the editor in the chat. Change runs are included in every plan.
Has Melta already built a course platform?
Not yet as an example product. The closest is SOMA Yoga Zürich: an example product with classes, bookings and subscriptions for a studio. The building blocks behind it, accounts, subscriptions, payments and email, are the same ones a course platform needs.
Describe your courses. Melta does the rest.
A concept uses only a few credits. Catalogue, lessons, quizzes, certificates and payment are built and run once you approve it.
